ST Public Branding is Hiring a Project Manager-Permitting & Regulatory Compliance (term-limited) Near Seattle, WA

What Will You Do

Under general direction, manages, administers, and leads permit and regulatory compliance efforts within Sound Transit’s regional transit network. This position develops, executes, and manages permitting strategies and regulatory compliance to ensure Sound Transit capital projects.

These positions will demonstrate independent decision-making and discretion in developing solutions to complex regulatory challenges, manages and resolves challenges with regulatory stakeholders, project teams, internal staff, and contractors; and possesses excellent communication.

What We Offer

Salary range is $65k to $150k, with a midpoint of $105k. New hires typically receive between minimum and midpoint, however, we may go slightly higher based on experience, internal equity and market.

What You can Expect in a Permit Project Manager Role at Sound Transit

  • You'll interface with Governmental Project Partners as the single point of contact in permitting/regulatory issues within an assigned area.
  • You'll be part of the Sound Transit team that reviews final design plans for regulatory compliance.
  • You'll manage the work of and be supported by a team of consultants tasked with developing and revision of permit applications.
  • With the support of the final design and project management team, you'll lead permitting discussions with Governmental Project Partners.
  • You'll be part of an interdisciplinary team of permitting specialists working on either the Ballard Link or West Seattle Link Extension Project(s), and STride.
  • Working with Sound Transit's Construction Management team, you'll manage post-issuance submittals during construction, including revisions, RFIs, material submittals, etc.

About You

  • You have an educational background in Construction Management, Urban Planning, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Public Policy, or closely related field.
  • You also have at least four years of experience providing technical support in the oversight and management of complex regulatory processes in construction, land use, public works, and environmental regulatory compliance.
  • Also, an equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in a hybrid office and field environment.
  • As part of their job duties persons in this position are expected to visit active construction sites and may encounter jobsite hazards that may require them to climb, kneel, travel across uneven surfaces, etc., to access areas of interest. Travel to/from these jobsites may or may not be reachable by the local transit network.
  • This position may also be subject to carrying and lifting of objects up to 50 pounds.
