Location Description:
The Flamingo Resort & Spa is a mid-century marvel in The Valley of the Moon. The buildings, rendered with natural materials and iconic angular silhouettes, are the work of master architect Homer A. Rissman. Set on a 10-acre campus, it is an incomparable property for both its city access and sense of complete retreat.
Overview:

The Wellbeing Coordinator will create unique, engaging events that drive hotel guest satisfaction and engagement that tie to the branding, demographic and vision of the Flamingo Resort & Spa. Our Wellbeing offerings are a signature element of the 'Spoken Experience' and as the leader, you will create, prepare & execute our activities and program offerings such as: yoga, meditation, wellness presentations and metaphysical experiences, live music, seasonal events, community event collaborations, and general wellbeing among guests and staff.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Support the creation, development, & implementation of all programs, (metaphysical, wellness, community-focused) and other offerings designed to support purposeful guest experiences.
  • Foster a culture and attitude of innovation, continuous improvement, and forward-thinking as it relates to guests growing appetite for wellness goods and services.
  • Ensure all the required staff and materials are available for all activities, a room or space is reserved for the event and any promotional materials are developed and distributed in advance of the programs.
  • Communicate programming to all guests using signage, messaging, staff, and other means.
  • Air in the Training with Reservations and Guest Relations staff to assist each guest to engage them as fully as possible in a meaningful Spoken experience. This experience begins with the first contact (phone or email) and does not end until the guest has checked out.
  • Recruiting & hiring providers that meet the elevated expectations of a Spoken guest experience and can deliver this experience in a consistent & professional manner.
  • Develop & maintain relationships with providers in the local community and beyond.
  • Continuously evaluate all program offerings to leverage resources, ensure fiscal responsibility and ensure the exacting standards of Spoken are being maintained.
  • Oversee the monthly activities schedule to ensure cost-effectiveness, easy implementation, balance of content, and that offerings are guest driven.
  • Work with ED to maintain budgets for the department, create yearly budget with back-up documentation.
  • Partner with Marketing, Sales, and PR regarding scope of programs and how best to reach the Spoken audience.
  • Manages daily communication and follow up between guest relations, housekeeping, engineering, and landscape.
  • Actively participates in training opportunities and team building activities.
  • Collecting and submitting all paperwork necessary for providers payment. Follow through to ensure payments are delivered to providers in an agreed upon term.
  • Supports the supervision of the providers.
  • Any additional duties asked, within reason, of you by your direct manager.
  • Schedule and facilitate walkthroughs for the venue.
  • Produce proposals for venue rentals and event services, equipment rentals.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English (speak, read, write) with guests, co-workers, and management to their understanding.
  • Ability to perform assigned duties with diligence, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness, and work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance.
  • People skills and the ability to collaborate well with co-workers and the public.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Excellent guest service skills, both in person and on the phone.
  • Experience in wellness focused programs & events, preferably in a wellness focused hospitality setting.
  • Professional presentation and demeanor, comfort in speaking with media entities.
  • Thorough understanding of operating and management techniques as they apply to the wellness and hospitality industry.
  • Exceptional verbal & written communication skills, with the ability to effectively train, coach, motivate, evaluate, and correct employee behavior.
  • Ability to travel occasionally on behalf of the company and to work flexible and extended hours as required by the operations of the property.
  • Familiarization with the well-being industry to help guide you but not dictate you in measuring success and strategies for product positioning and brand management.
  • Broad-based, up-to-date knowledge of programming trends, tools and resources for the wellness and hospitality industries.
  • Ability to write effective business communications, summaries and reports using both prescribed and creative formats.
  • Ability to effectively monitor and control expenses, allocate financial resources and maintain budget restrictions.
  • Accelerated decision-making and problem-solving abilities, utilizing information, company policies, and personal judgment through experience.
  • Ability to manage interruptions, establish work priorities, manage stress, and effectively matriculate in a fast-paced, frequently changing environment.
Compensation Range:
The compensation for this position is $24.00/Hr. - $28.00/Hr. based on qualifications and experience.
