Description

 The Quality Control Inspector is a representative of the Quality Department of Chemring Energetic Devices (CED) and as such they support the Quality Control Supervisor and/or Quality Assurance Manager with all aspects related with control and inspection, involving but not limited to: measuring parts with the appropriate and applicable measurement instrument, conducting visual inspection of parts per governing documents, and supporting compliance with customer specifications, internal quality system, regulatory requirements and applicable laws. The Quality inspector is responsible for inspection activities across the manufacturing line, including but not limited to: receiving, in-process and final inspection, as well as special or additional inspections as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Responsible to ensure compliance with CED’s QMS.

2. Responsible to follow and comply with internal procedures, guidelines, and policies.

3. Responsible to complete inspection activities per applicable documentation and requirements:

1. Applies applicable measuring techniques with the support of measuring tooling (i.e. calipers, micrometers, etc),

2. Records all required data in applicable forms and systems (i.e. D365),

3. Provides daily reports on completed jobs to supervisor,

4. Records inspection time in all applicable systems (Kronos, D365, etc.),

4. Initiates and follow through non-conformance reports (with the support of supervisor or manager) through closure.

5. Supports the internal audits as required.

6. Supports the corrective actions process as required.

7. Support customer required test witnessing and Exam of Product functions.

8. When delegated, witnesses testing, prepares test reports and acceptance data packages.

9. Responsible to complete delegated activities under the guidance of the Chief Inspector or Quality Supervisor

10. Responsible to complete any other designated and/or delegated activities and responsibilities, directly or indirectly.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS) 

1. Must be eligible to pass drug screen background check and be a US person under the Safe Explosives Act of 2003 (as amended) as required by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) for all employees of Chemring Energetic Devices. 

2. Able and capable to interpret blueprints – GD&T.

3. Able to pass a vision test (including color test).

4. Manual dexterity to manipulate delicate parts and instruments.

5. Comfortable interacting with customer quality representatives and inspectors

6. Computational skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, D365)

7. Able to work on a fast paced environment with Low/High Volume and High Mix configuration.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS) 

1. 2 years of experience in a first line quality function, e.g. auditing, quality systems coordination, or inspection.

2. 2 years of experience in inspection activities on a regulated environment (i.e. AS-9100, ISO-9001, etc.).

3. Comfortable interacting with customer quality representatives and inspectors

4. Demonstrable intermediate to advance skills in MS Office
