NuComfort LLC is a distributor of quality HVAC equipment and supplies to residential and commercial contractors with 3 locations servicing the Chicagoland area. We are currently seeking a Credit Manager to join our team at our Chicago location.

The Credit Manager is the main point of contact for both internal and external customers related to the credit function. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to function proficiently in a fast-paced environment, possess excellent communication skills, maintain a positive relationship between the credit department and our customers as well as working closely with our sales team. Credit certification (CBA, CBF, or CCE) is a definite plus.

Duties and Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

  • Set up new accounts and extend credit to customers in accordance with company’s credit policies.
  • Proactively promote and maintain customer relationships and profitable sales growth.
  • Minimize bad debt while helping the company maximize profitable sages.
  • Negotiate and secure arrangements for payment with delinquent accounts.
  • Manage monthly receivables of 1.5 million dollars.
  • Daily bank deposits via remote scanner
  • Payment / cash application to customer accounts
  • Credit card processing.
  • Release and approve customer orders.
  • Maintain and stay up to date on credit, collection and mechanic’s lien and performance bond laws.
  • Manage third party collections and legal process for assigned accounts.
  • Team with attorneys or third-party collection agencies when necessary to obtain successful collection results.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, preferred.
  • 2 years’ experience in credit and collections
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and negotiating skills.
  • Previous experience in building materials distribution or construction industry and/or experience in a multi-location environment preferred.
  • Lien and Bond experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of accounting and finance basics
  • Proficient skill with Computer Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Eclipse, and PowerPoint)
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
