Job Description
The Crosby Company is a family office responsible for wealth management and preservation for multiple branches and generations of a single family. The Crosby Company provides middle and back office services to various individual businesses including Curatorial, Foundations, Investments, Trust, Tax and Private Real Estate.
Beacon’s Advisory Team provides financial advisory services to the Company and its clients. An Advisor performs data analytics, creates customized reporting and modeling, identifies financial planning opportunities, presents findings, and recommends financial and strategic planning opportunities for client accounts as well as support the Senior Leadership Team with advising the Company’s clients.

POSITION DUTIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES:

An Advisor provides daily oversight and analysis of accounts and is expected to proactively identify, initiate, and oversee opportunities for strategic planning with the support of a team of practice specialists to include internal and external representatives from tax, legal, finance, trust, operations, and others. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate closely with a team of other advisors and the Head of Financial Planning to prepare financial reporting, strategic plans, and performance modeling materials for client accounts, including various trusts, high net worth individuals, investment partnerships, operating businesses, and other business entities.
  • Responsible for the creation of investment reviews for client accounts, private investment analysis, and will support the Head of Financial Planning in delivering such reviews at Investment Committee meetings.
  • Monitor account liquidity in designated accounts with respect to planned expenditures and distributions and will make recommendations regarding the investment of unreserved cash.
  • Look to enhance the clients’ net worth through idea generation, researching new investments, sizing positions, and recommending opportunities for growth.
  • May be responsible for the coordination of one or more board committees and play the lead role with presenting committee materials, which meet on a periodic basis and as needed.
  • Provide backup support to other Advisors to ensure that account services and transaction processing are not disrupted by staff which may be out of office.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external business partners, including technology service providers, to develop and strengthen systems and processes to achieve account objectives, simplify operations, improve efficiency, mitigate risk, or enhance client experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience

  • 5 years of financial planning experience in a highly professional work environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree a must; MBA a plus.
  • CFA or CFP a plus

Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to create and maintain financial plans for ultra-high net worth individuals
  • Advance skills with financial planning software
  • Ability to work well independently and exhibit good judgment
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience with financial systems and data. Proficient in MS Office, including advance usage of Excel
  • Experience with Archway GL software preferred
  • Proactive and positive attitude, highly motivated, self-directed with minimal daily supervision
  • Demonstrated flexibility in adapting to new and varying situations
