TITLE:Coolant Maintenance Technician

DEPARTMENT:Maintenance

REPORTS TO:Maintenance Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY:

Monitor and maintain the quality and volume of machining coolant in all of the machining operations as we as perform basic preventative maintenance on the CNC machines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Thoroughly understand and adhere to the department goals, objectives, and strategy 

• Establish and maintain credibility throughout the organization as an effective developer of solutions 

• Present and maintain positive morale amongst employees

• Monitor the strength of the coolant and adjust as needed

• Ensure that all machining operations have enough coolant on a daily basis

• Replace the coolant and filters and clean the CNC machines on a monthly basis while minimizing production delays

• Perform basic preventative maintenance on the CNC machines

• Track on hand quantities of coolant and other lubricating products to ensure timely reordering

• Perform basic preventative maintenance on the air compressors

• Assist Buildings Maintenance and Custodians as needed

• Assist other maintenance personnel as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experienced working as a Coolant Maintenance employee or equivalent

• Flexible, energetic, forward-thinking, and creative with high moral and ethical standards

• High analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus

• Well organized and self-directed

• Able to repetitively lift up to 40 lbs

• Able to relate to people at all levels of the organization in a positive fashion

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; working knowledge of computer applications

• Must have a basic knowledge of various trade fundamentals sufficient to deal with general repairs

• Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred in related field
