RGSD is home to 13 schools, which serve approximately 5,700 students. Committed to providing excellent programs from early childhood education through high school.

SUMMARY: Reports directly to the Assistant Superintendent, Curriculum and Instruction, in providing effective oversight and implementation of the district science curriculum across all grade levels. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Develop and revise district curriculum to align with state standards and district goals for student achievement
• Provide support for teachers in order to more effectively and consistently teach the district’s written math curriculum and support through clear communication and vertical articulation of K-12 learning goals
• Manage, research, and evaluate academic programs, materials, and resources
• Support building PLC Teams for effective curriculum assessment implementation
• Engage teachers in various forms of professional development, all of which are consistent with and support implementation of the district’s mission, K-12 curricular program philosophies, and established district wide and school improvement initiatives, and instructional technology
• Provide support for teachers in order to more effectively and consistently create and implement assessment through clear communication and vertical articulation of K-12 assessment learning goals
• Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each of the essential duties listed above. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. • Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) required. Master of Arts (M.A.) preferred
• Missouri State Teacher Certificate required
• At least five years of successful teaching experience
• Minimum of three years curriculum development and implementation experience
• Knowledge of school reform strategies, curriculum, quality instruction and data analysis
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with students, parents, staff, colleagues, school groups and community organizations
• Successful completion of a background check by Human Resources

PHYSICAL DEMANDS (STRENGTH):

• Exerts 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or
• Exerts 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or
• Exerts greater than negligible up to 10 pounds constantly
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time
• Ability to view large volumes of written materials via computer screen and/or records/correspondence/documentation for extended periods of time.
