Summary of Essential Job Functions:

To assist and oversee in all areas of tennis/ pickleball club operations in conjunction with the Tennis Directors direction. Including: pro shop, maintenance, instruction, and programming.

• Assist in planning and implementation of pickleball socials and events with Tennis Director, and Desk Manager.
• Lead variety of tennis green ball/ pickleball programs at the club for adults & juniors.
• Promote and attend all tennis/ pickleball social events.
• Perform NMO & assist new members into the tennis/ pickleball program.
• Enforce all the club’s rules and regulations governing the use of the facility, its equipment and nonmember policies are enforced.
• Be involved with Tennis Director on training, hiring, firing pickleball instructors. Ensuring payroll, on boarding, schedules, CPR, sexual harassment, name tag, court sheets, dress code, PCI compliance, etc. is completed and executed.
• Be proficient in court booking, lesson booking, program enrollment and be able to train and assist new and current tennis/ pickleball pros in use of club software and policies.
• Manage all aspects of U10 junior programs. Promoting, lesson planning, staffing, staff training, communication with parents, payroll, billing.
• Assist in organization and inter and intra club league play for tennis/ pickleball.
• Inspect the courts/facilities daily prior to the teaching for cleanliness and report any needed repairs including picking up any balls on court or surrounding areas.
• Attend monthly staff meetings
• Oversee all aspects of tennis/ pickleball operations in Director of Tennis absence
• Foster and maintain relationships with the other club professionals especially membership, activities, and fitness to promote all aspects of the club and have other departments promote tennis/ pickleball.
• Plan and conduct staff continuing education for tennis professionals on Village tennis philosophy, pickleball teaching methodology, lesson planning, specific technical aspects, time management etc.
• Assist in managing tennis/ pickleball professionals in terms of enforcing guest policies, nonmember lessons, dress code, billing, professionalism.
• Fill out weekly your administrative hours in the log and submit.

Knowledge/Skills Required:

• Professional game knowledge and experience with rules and techniques of tennis & pickleball.
• Customer service focused attitude
• Obtain CPR certification within 30 days of hire through Company training.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must have excellent organizational skills.
• Must be punctual and self-motivated.

Knowledge/Skills Preferred:

• USPTA certification

Physical Activity

This position requires frequent standing, walking, and running, grasping, bending, and kneeling on the Tennis Court. Sitting for some periods of time. Substantial repetitive movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Involved in activities where one must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Requires the ability to receive detailed information through written and oral communication.

Physical Requirement

Sedentary work involving sitting some of the time. Walking and standing are required daily. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects. In addition, involves physical movement which includes sports and activities related to membership events and programs.

Visual Requirement

This position requires close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing computer monitors and extensive reading.

Working Conditions 

This position requires typical office or administrative work, member outdoor activity and outdoor events in hot weather.
