JOB SUMMARY:

The General Manager plays a vital role in creating an environment where the values, culture, and operating standards of The Flame Broiler, Inc. can thrive. The General Manager effectively communicates the vision of The Flame Broiler, Inc. brand and its systems, through the execution of effective management and efficient operational procedures. The General Manager upholds and keeps The Flame Broiler, Inc. brand at the forefront of all operations and management decisions. He/she will personify the values, culture, and the heart of Flame Broiler. The character, competence and chemistry of the General Manager is directly aligned with the company’s purpose, its values, and guiding principles. The General Manager understands that the values are at the core of every management decision and leadership abilities.

Competencies of the Successful General Manager:

  • Responsible for achieving company sales/revenue goals and operates shifts to ensure goals can be reached.
  • Reports store revenue to supervisors and home office support team weekly basis or as needed.
  • Responsible for outbound marketing and increasing sales through community relationships, business to business sales, etc.
  • Manages and/or oversees the management of inventory and conducts monthly inventory counts.
  • Oversees and/or ensures cash handling procedures are properly performed.
  • Responsible for the safety and security of restaurant facility during shifts.
  • Communicates necessary repairs of equipment, damaged equipment, and items in need of replacement.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated ability to perform as well as communicates the Flame Broiler Shift Management 9 Touch Point Module.
  • Ensures the restaurant meets the standards of all areas of the 4 Pillars of Success operational evaluation.
  • Achieved satisfactory certification in and demonstrated ability to perform all positions within the restaurant (i.e., cashier, prep, cook).
  • Responsible for the communication, implementation, and execution of sales initiatives and promotions. Follows up and reports on the progress and success of initiatives and promotions.
  • Maintains restaurant’s profitability through effective operations, minimizing wastes, controlling expenses as well as efficient scheduling and staffing.
  • Has the ability to project financial goals and monitors progress as well as makes necessary decisions to meet goals.
  • Possesses the ability to identify and resolve operational inefficiencies and troubleshoot problems in a timely manner.
  • Communicates and/or ensures the communication of company policies and standards to supervised team members.
  • Communicates changes or occurrences during shift to DM and/or incoming manager, (i.e., employee call outs, issues, success, goals, revenue goals, employee performance standards, etc.)
  • Executes shift handover communication to Assistant Coach and/or Shift Lead.

Successful General Manager:

  • Provides overall leadership, management of procedures, direction of tasks, and performance coaching for all supervised team members.
  • Evaluates and provides feedback on the performance of supervised team members. Ensures that all supervised team members are fully trained and competent to in their respective roles.
  • Ensures that all team members are accountable for knowing and understanding company standards and policies.
  • Upholds and enforces company standards and policies through effective leadership.
  • Ability to coach supervised team members for performance improvement.
  • Possesses the ability and skills to resolve conflicts patiently and professionally.
  • Quickly handles and resolves guest complaints when necessary.
  • Seeks to find solutions and causes of guest’s complaints when appropriate.
  • Successfully completes company approved Train-The-Trainer certification course.
  • Trains and/or oversees the training of newly hired and/or newly promoted team members.
  • Certifies the training of newly hired and/or promoted team members. Follows up with trainees during shift review and evaluates progress of team members in training.
  • Follows company guidelines concerning recommendations of team members for promotions and wage increases.
  • Responsible for the creation, adjustments, and distribution of weekly schedules.
  • Maintains employee attendance and punctuality records and sends reports to supervisor.
  • Ensures cash handling procedures are adhered to and enforced.
  • Communicates and ensures restaurant team members abide by and adheres to company injury illness prevention safety program.
  • Under the guidance of direct supervisor and People Operations, administers progressive discipline policy.

STARTING HOURLY RATE: $20.00 - $23.00 Benefits
