Description

KSA is searching for a Licensed Civil Engineering Senior Project Manager/Team Leader with experience in Streets & Drainage and/or Water/Wastewater design projects. As a Senior Project Manager, you would plan, design, and manage the full life cycle of various projects. These projects can be single or multi-disciplinary and range in size from small to large (up to $50M in construction cost) and from simple to a high level of complexity. This position assumes full responsibility for project profit or loss. It also includes managing all activities related to project scope, schedule, cost/budget, quality, communications, resources, procurement, and risk elements in order to optimize an exceptional client experience.

Requirements

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

* Leads efforts in developing project approach, scope, schedule, and fee during proposal preparation phase

* Supports and/or participates in interviews and negotiations to the extent required

* Develops a project management plan (PMP) and sets baselines for project scope, determines work procedures/sequences and refines schedules, budgets, risk assessments, staffing, vendor lists and progress billing points

* Works with the Practice Director and/or Practice Leaders to request and form project teams and assign responsibilities

* Meets with client's management team and stakeholders as necessary during the term of a project to ensure proper communications, resolve issues and obtain approvals

* Leads the project delivery team to create a strong team atmosphere of collaboration, clear communications and mutual support throughout the project

* Confirms that all tasks are assigned appropriately, completed on time and with a high degree of quality and attention to detail throughout the project

* Manages changes to project scope, schedule, budget and risks; submits contract amendments (upon internal approval) to client's management team regarding identified changes from contracted baseline documents

* Conforms to KSA project delivery quality and safety standards

* Utilizes effective written and oral communication; plans and manages project communications

* Maintains a positive business relationship with clients as part of ongoing repeat business development efforts

* Optimizes project revenue and cost management to maximize profit while minimizing project overruns and collect client accounts receivable within contracted terms

* Assures project change orders are submitted and approved prior to starting work

* Works with client's management team to ensure all KSA activities are billed properly, and accounts receivable balances are paid in a timely manner

* Minimizes all error and omission claims

* Captures, documents and shares with the KSA community any "lessons learned"

* Works with the Practice Director and Practice Leaders to continuously improve the organization's project management capability and enhance the customer experience

* May train other project managers on project delivery processes

Qualifications

* A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or an industry-related field. MS or PhD preferred.

* PE license in the state of Texas or other state with agreement to obtain Texas license within 3 to 4 months

* Demonstrated capabilities and success in managing larger, more complex water/wastewater projects (up to $50M in construction costs)

* Optional Certifications: PMP, PgMP, PfMP, CAPM or equivalent certification
