The Hahn laboratory in the Division of Basic Sciences has an immediate opening for a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow to investigate mechanisms of transcriptional regulation. The lab uses multidisciplinary approaches to investigate fundamental mechanisms of gene regulation. Examples of potential research topics that build upon our recent published studies include investigating mechanisms and specificity of transcription activators, repressors, and chromatin regulators; probing the roles and cooperativity of transcription factors in orchestrating genome-wide expression; mechanisms associated with transcriptional bursting. A wide variety of approaches are used in the laboratory including molecular genetics, genomics, biochemistry, high throughput screening, computational biology and single cell RNA-seq. The precise topic of the research project will be determined jointly with the candidate. Candidates that have a demonstrated interest in gene regulation and that display initiative and creativity will be given priority. The successful candidate will have the ability to work both independently and in a highly collaborative and interactive environment.

Mentoring of postdoctoral fellows is a high priority. In addition, FredHutch offers multiple opportunities for career counseling, networking, and teaching/mentoring. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD in either molecular biology, biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry, or related fields
  • Published evidence of productivity and creativity
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in molecular biology and biochemistry
  • Experience with Python and/or R
  • Next generation sequencing data analysis and experimentation (e.g., ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, etc.)

The annual base salary range for this position is from $65,484 to $100,000 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
