 Senior Accountant – Bloomington, MN 

Johnstone Supply – The Heartland Group is currently hiring a Senior Accountant based out of Bloomington, MN. This individual ensures the efficient operation of the company by performing day-to-day Senior Accountant duties, in addition to other administrative, operational, and clerical functions.

Requirements

 Senior Accountant Duties:

  • Prepare sales tax returns for multiple states using Avalara software.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and close out accounting period.
  • Balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly departmental reporting accurately and timely.
  • Performs regular reconciliation of bank statements to ensure proper posting of all transactions to the general ledger.
  • Prepare lender reporting; semi-weekly and monthly.
  • Prepares audit schedules for annual internal and external audits and assists auditors during the on-site visit.
  • Prepares and maintains various statistical reports requested by management.
  • Work with controller and accounting team to enhance process and data quality and improve efficiency.
  • Other office duties as requested.

Education and Experience: 

Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 3-5 years accounting experience 
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, controls, and practices
  • Advanced experience with MS Excel
