Skills & Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Demonstrated experience working with large ($5 million) budget projects and/or programs.
  • Demonstrated experience working on Data Warehouse and reporting projects
  • End User Documentation: Demonstrated skill in developing and maintaining project documentation, including writing project charters, implementation plans, resource plans, status reports and all other required projecta documentation.
  • Communications Requirements: Develop and deliver multi-mode communications that concisely convey a clear understanding of the message to different audiences.
  • Work Environment: Working independently and/or in a team environment may be required for some engagements.
Responsibilities:
The Senior Project Manager will lead the Operational Reporting project. This project will define future state reporting and data access requirements, the strategy for data architecture and reporting from BPSI systems and deliver a PeopleSoft HR and finance data warehouse/mart as well as reporting capabilities. An ongoing agile process will need to be defined to address the remaining BPSI reporting needs. This project will be delivered within the framework of the Business Process Systems Integration (BPSI) program and the Project Manager will need to consider the linkages and interactions with the other systems and processes being developed by the program. The objective for the program is to provide efficiencies through the use of clear, consistent, and standardized Council practices supported by common technologies.
Requirements of the role:
  • Work with Procurement to execute a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a Data Warehouse/Mart.
  • Drive planning, execution and tracking of all project deliverables.
  • Develop and administer the project budget in collaboration with the program managers and project sponsors.
  • Coordinate the work of internal and external participants, stakeholders, and consultants or vendors to ensure successful completion of the projects.
  • Be responsible for managing the development and implementation of the project that requires collaboration and coordination with Manage resources and schedules to successful completion ensuring that projects meet scope, cost and quality requirements as determined in the planning stages.
  • Identify resources needed and assign responsibilities, negotiating with other departments and/or units for resources if necessary.
  • Communicate with project sponsors, program manager, change manager and stakeholders in all stages of the project through regular written and verbal communications to keep them updated on the progress and aware of next steps; provide project updates in front of large groups, including Senior Management.
  • Collaborate with the other BPSI project managers and BPSI Program manager to identify how the projects will impact other projects.
Additional Skills:
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar
  • Experience with Agile methodology.
  • Experience writing and executing an RFP
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects with cross-matrix or cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Data Warehouse projects.
  • Demonstrated experience working with a Reporting project.
Ability to:
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Lead teams providing direction, delegation and removing obstacles to get work done. Build consensus and motivate people to act and participate.
  • Build strong customer relationships and delivery of customer-centric solutions. Anticipate and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders.
  • Develop and deliver multi-mode communications that concisely convey a clear understanding of the message to different audiences.
  • Ability to handle conflict situations effectively with a minimum of noise.
