Job Summary:

The Production Associate will receive raw goods, manufacture, and occasionally package the Company’s

products.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· None.

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Provides a high level of customer service through extensive product knowledge of the brand.

· Spicing, brining, and netting large quantities of meat.

· Meat fabrication, mostly sorting and scaling out meat ratios.

· Clipping, hanging, and smoking fresh sausages.

· Packaging ready-to-eat products and building pallets.

· Tagging and hanging large quantities of salami.

· Maintains a variety of products while conforming to the production standard.

· Operates all meat equipment including meat wrapper.

· Handles damaged and spoiled products according to Company policy.

· Complies with safety policies and procedures; notifies manager of any potential hazard immediately.

· May perform other miscellaneous tasks assigned by managers necessary to provide products and services to customers during peak periods of business.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

 Required Skills & Abilities: 

· Ability to understand and meet USDA standards for health and safety.

· Ability to remain alert and focused in an environment that is noisy and fast-paced.

· Ability to disassemble, clean and reassemble all equipment as part of the sanitation process.

· Ability to work effectively with kitchen staff.

· Detail-oriented and thorough.

· Excellent verbal communication skills.

· Excellent active listening skills.

· Basic knife skills.

· Proficient in taking directions. 

Education & Experience:

· High school diploma or equivalent required.

· Previous kitchen experience preferred but not required.

· Basic food knowledge.

· State motor vehicle operators permit for operation of forklift highly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to traverse distribution warehouse and access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and reaching.

· Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

· Must be able to work in variable cold and hot environments and be comfortable working with meat.
