Plans, lays out, installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment as well as
directing and training electrician helpers to do the same.
Varies by location. Must have open availability any time any day of the week. Length of
employment is limited to job assignment and/or project duration.
Essential Skills (may include but are not limited to the ability to:)

Identify conduit and hardware

Perform basic math job calculations
Use power tools: Port−a−bands, Drill Motor, Side Grinder, Hilti Drill, Electric Tugger, Sawz−All, and
Knockout
Identify rigging and equipment
Identify cable tray and hardware
Fabricate hangers and brackets
Mount junction boxes
Basic blueprint reading
Figure, cut & install cable tray with offsets
Perform cad weld grounding
Figure offsets, bend, and install conduit with pull points
Identify types & sizes of wire, cable insulation, & color code of multi−conductor
Identify electrical meters & instruments
Install hangers and brackets
Fabricate push button stands
Install ground lugs
Perform Rigging
Install lugs on 4/0 & larger cable
Ring out cables
Read wire/cable schedules
Mount push button stands (to job specs and details, plumb and square with 100% accuracy)
Install switches
Determine elevation and location of all electrical services using prints and diagrams
Read single lines, schematics loop
Identify starter components
Perform Megger Testing of cables
Read and solve problems using Ohm's Law
Requisition material from warehouse from blueprints
Make connections using hydraulic and compression tool
Assemble Circuits: MCC, Timers, Start/Stop, Push Button, and Motors
Perform terminations on AC & DC motors
Identify & correct unsafe conditions/acts using NEC and OSHA guidelines
Using proper tools and procedures, rig wire and cable for pulling
Identify components to a 9−lead motor on high and low voltage
Making connections for a 9−lead motor on high and low voltage
Use and interpret electrical blueprints
Determine rotation direction
Perform Megger testing of motors
Change motor rotation
Install electrical equipment and components underground
Read P & ID's
Hand signal heavy equipment
Working knowledge of National Electric Code
Troubleshoot starter components
Build stress cones
Terminate 4/20 milliamp signal cable
Select the proper applications for different types of voltages (i.e., 24, 120, 240, 480, 600, 12,800 61kv.)
Work within company policy as outlined in the Samuel EPC Craft Handbook and maintain
compliance with both the Samuel EPC Human Resources Policy Manual and the Samuel EPC
Safety Manual.
Perform other duties as assigned by the foreman/supervisor as needed.
Essential Qualifications
Five (5) years minimum Field experience in trade
Ability to work with others to achieve job goals
Read, write and communicate using the English language sufficient to perform job functions
(other preferences will be given for special language skills where there is a business need)
