The Head Technician at IPC has the critical responsibility to oversee the maintenance and repairs of arcade games, attractions, computer systems, AV systems, kitchen equipment, and the general facility. The Head Technician works under the General Manager. This individual must practice the servant leader management style by treating all employees and fellow leaders with respect and support.
Position Requirements and Perks:
Minimum of 3 years of management experience in a technical field preferred
Ensure the proper use of various pieces of equipment provided in your area
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
Understanding of how facility amusement equipment operates and how to maintain it
Ability to repair/replace small motors, gears, transmissions and tires on amusement equipment
Ability to lead a team of Technicians with daily objectives and follow ups
Ability to understand and troubleshoot software systems
Ability to climb up and down ladders or stand on work platforms/scaffolding while making repairs
Proficient in the use of hand tools and performing installations
Work requires standing and considerable kneeling, bending, stooping, stretching, and working in hard to reach places requiring awkward and strained positions. Frequently lifts parts and supplies that weigh over 25 lbs
Ability to assemble and move large amusement and arcade equipment
Ability to differentiate colors
Experienced at soldering small components
Ability to repair and troubleshoot AV systems
Basic building HVAC, plumbing, electrical and carpentry skills preferred
Strong understanding of electronics repair and troubleshooting
Ensure that employees clean and handle equipment safely at all times and that they use safety gloves, goggles, etc. when required
Enforce the safety standards set forth by IPC; refer to the employee handbook
Ensure that all guests are using our equipment safely while in the Game Room (be observant)
Ensure that all equipment is operating safely and there are no fire hazards
Ensure all exterior and storage room doors are secured at all times
Maintain and repair all games and attractions in the fairgrounds area in a fast and efficient manner
Ensure “Tech Office” is kept secured (locked), neat, clean and organized at all times
Order and keep an appropriate inventory of spare parts for games and equipment to prevent games from being down while waiting on parts; work with IPC Corporate to set inventory guidelines for your store
Maintain an accurate documented inventory of spare parts
Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting computer systems in the store (with the expressed approval of the Executive Vice President of Information Technology)
Perform daily, weekly and monthly administrative documentation for the position of Head Technician
Maintain “Down Game” logs and communicate with Game Room Manager and GM on the status of any piece of equipment that is not up to standards and working properly
Be prepared to assist in special projects when needed. For example, training new store technicians, assisting in new store openings, rotating games from store to store or conducting game tests
2 weeks of PTO after one year of employment (can use 1 week after 6 months of employment) for employees who average at least 32 hours of work per week for each anniversary date
