We are looking for a Floater to work in both our Shipping and our Production departments. This role will support both positions each day. The successful candidate will be responsible for moving products in the warehouse, inspecting, and stocking incoming products, as well as preparing and shipping outgoing orders. This position requires an individual with strong forklift skills to move plus navigate the warehouse with products, understanding of production process, ability to work with machines in production, strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse and production environments, with forklift experience and enjoy taking on new responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Picks, packs, wraps, and prepares paperwork for order shipments, setup freight orders in computer system and scans completed paperwork. Plus fill and ship sample requests.
  • Unload raw materials, count, verify and receive stock into computer system, label product and store appropriately.
  • Work on machines to grind reacted batches, package, shrink-wrap full pallets and move to warehouse using a forklift.
  • Grind/shift work in progress and package specified weight into designated containers (drums, super sacks, bags etc.)
  • Assist batch makers, assist in digging, and/or charging kettles when directed
  • Timely take in-process samples to the QA Lab for analysis
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices, cleaning floors, equipment as outlined in housekeeping schedules
  • Work to effectively meet production and shipping goals and ensure good quality performance is put to tasks
  • Abide by all safe work practices, encourage others to do so and support the team by sharing process improvements or recommending of equipment to improve efficiency

Qualifications Required:

  • High School Diploma / G.E.D preferred

Experience Required:

  • At least 1 year forklift experience
  • At least 1 year machine operating experience
  • Computer literate
  • Experience completing shipping paperwork is an asset

Knowledge/Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of warehousing processes
  • Ability to work without direct supervision, team player
  • Good interpersonal/communication skills
  • Read, write, and speak English
  • Proficiency in basic math and weight conversions
  • Reliable, accurate and motivated

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Hours of work are typically Monday through Wednesday 1:30pm - 11:30pm and Thursdays 1:00pm -11:00pm. This position frequently may require overtime or some hours on Friday.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands include extensive sitting, hand and arm movements, with some bending, pushing, pulling, and ability to lift up to 50lbs to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
