The Nursing Resident is graduate of an approved program of nursing who has been accepted into the El Centro Regional Medical Center Transition to Practice Nurse Residency Program. The nursing resident provides direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The unlicensed Nursing Resident may perform only those skills that may be provided by unlicensed personnel and for which they have demonstrated competency. Skills permitted include those that have been taught in an approved program of nursing and/or in orientation to the facility or assigned unit, and are within the scope of nursing.
