Techcentric is Hiring an IT Field Service Technician Near Providence, RI
A Providence-based Managed Service Provider seeks a skilled and motivated IT Field Service Technician. Job duties include in-house procurement and on-site deployment of workstation and network hardware devices, as well as providing end-user support and training.
This opportunity offers daily interactions with a broad spectrum of prevailing industry technologies and the benefit of expanding knowledge and skills through exposure to emerging technology. Candidate requires basic troubleshooting skills, proficiency in learning new things, good time management abilities, and yield success when working independently.
What You Need to Have
- 2 years of applied IT experience
- Professional appearance and proficient written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with end-users remotely an in-person
- Experience with Microsoft Windows and Office and 365
- Basic understanding of Networking (routing, switching, VLANs)
- Basic understanding of Virtualization
- Basic understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory
- Application Support Experience: Teams, Zoom, Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Hardware Experience: Network Printing, Scanning, USB Peripherals, Bluetooth
- Ability to participate in on-call rotation

- Experience with VMware ESXi
- Experience with Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktop, Microsoft Remote Desktop
- Experience with SonicWall, Cisco, and Aruba
- Experience with Veeam
- Experience with RMM solutions
- Experience with VoIP phone concepts
What You’ll Be Doing
- In-house setup and on-site installation of desktops and laptops
- In-house setup and on-site installation of network devices
- Provide technical insight and direction to clients as needed
- Basic administration within the realm of Active Directory
- Basic administration within the realm of Office 365
- Basic administration within remote compute environments (Microsoft / Citrix)
- Assisting in projects related to network administration and upgrades
- Maintaining network documentation
