Job Description
IABC HOUSEMEN
Reports to Director of Operations
GENERAL PURPOSE
· Assist with events of varying sizes and purposes to properly provide event preparation service for both the Banquet Center and Lower-Level
· Set up tables and chairs according to Floor Plan for events and as needed include podium, etc.
· Address and correct potential problems that may arise and communicate accordingly with the Director of Operations, Director of Event Sales & Services, Banquet Floor Manager and Club Coordinator
· Assist staff as needed and perform other duties as assigned including bussing tables during events
· Vacuum and steam clean carpets after each event
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
· Ensure proper storage of supplies
· Monitor adherence to health, safety and hygiene standards
· Ensure compliance with security procedures and ensure alcohol regulations are adhered to
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
· Assure all policies are adhered to throughout both entities in accordance with established guidelines
· Uphold the values of both entities which are:
o Collaboration, trustworthiness, dedication and service excellence
o Assist in the development of methods and processes that ensure our integrity
o Maintain a working relationship with all staff
o Display utmost professionalism through exceptional business/professional standards
EDUCATION REQUIRED
· High school diploma or GED
· Some trade school or college preferred
· Degree in Facilities or Hospitality Management preferred
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
· Related experience in facilities preferred
· Well-organized with multi-tasking skills
· Ability to handle stress and remain calm
· Contagious positive attitude
· Ability to work well with a team or independently
· Problem solving skills
· US Citizen with valid driver’s license and identification or State ID if driving is not required to perform tasks
REQUIRED SKILLS
· Excellent organizational and time management skills
· Ability to follow instructions
· General knowledge of Banquet set up
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Will be walking, standing, lifting for majority of shift
· Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. at a time
