Description

Rochester Sensors, LLC is looking for a Full Time Global Supplier Quality Engineer to join the team in Coppell, TX!

Job Purpose:

The GSQE leads Global’s Supplier Quality Program by developing, maintaining, and implementing the global standard supplier quality manual, procedures, policies, principles, and techniques. The GSQE monitors and reports on Global’s Supplier Quality performance to ensure that the planned results, goals, and objectives are achieved. This role will provide support to Global by evaluating, qualifying new suppliers and developing, monitoring, tracking performance improvements and implementing problem resolutions globally.

The GSQE will work collaboratively with the Global Supply Chain, Quality Managers and Supplier Quality Engineers to provide the company with a sustainable, competitive advantage, by developing and implementing a world-class supply base. In this role the GSQE will focus globally on a boundary-less way and achieving premier supplier performance thru strategic partnerships with preferred suppliers.

The GSQE supports a team of Quality Control and Assurance personnel with a focus on implementing solutions that drive supplier continuous improvement while balancing the need for cost, quality, and speed.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering)

2. Engineering or equivalent experience in Manufacturing.

3. Global Supplier Quality or Supply Chain knowledge.

4. Possess strong oral, written, and listening communication skills, and team building skills.

5. A minimum of seven years’ experience in a manufacturing or field service environment.

6. Demonstrate problem solving ability, process capability analysis, FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP

Preferred:

1. 10 years of experience in ISO 9001, EN ISO/IEC 80079-34:2018 and/or IATF 16949 based quality systems

2. Certified ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949 Internal Auditor.

3. DMAIC (Blackbelt/Greenbelt) training, Lean manufacturing experience, problem solving training (8D), strong facilitation skills, working knowledge of APQP techniques.

4. AQC CQE certification desired.

5. APQP Expertise

6. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Management

7. Fluent in verbal and written Spanish

Duties and Responsibilities:

As the GSQE, you will work within a dynamic environment that provides a high-level of exposure, influence and technical expertise. In accordance with the Global Supplier Quality Manual, the activities and responsibilities within the role will include the following, but not limited to:

1. Provide supplier quality support to global plant quality teams and suppliers to drive improved Supplier PPM and reduce internal/external customer impact.

2. Implement Fast Response Process and investigate nonconformances related to supplier quality and coordinate activities involving troubleshooting, analysis, corrective and preventative actions.

3. Lead and support root cause analyses of global supplier quality issues and ensure proper definition and documentation of supplier corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

4. Ensure the interface between the local and global supplier quality teams processes and systems are aligned with the Global Supplier Quality structure.

5. Collaborate with Global Supplier Quality to identify and address significant supplier quality issues.

6. Pre-qualify, develop, monitor and audit suppliers for new and current part and process changes.

7. Lead and ensure timely reporting, deployment, gathering, analyze and monitor of periodic supplier quality metrics.

8. Lead the resolution of top warranty supplier issues and in the application of advanced statistical analysis, problem solving techniques and quality tools.

9. Provide Global NPI supplier quality related support by utilizing the Global Procedures and APQP processes; i.e. Supplier PPAP documentation

10. Support New Product Programs through the supplier qualification process to the implementation of Supplier Product Launch; i.e. Tooling, Audits, PPAP, FAI, etc.

11. Perform Read-Across Corrective Actions within the global supply base and manufacturing processes.

12. Act as a liaison between Procurement and Plant Supplier Quality to support supplier warranty and quality initiatives including cost recovery.

13. Lead and manage cross functional project teams using standard project management techniques to drive toward supplier quality corrective and preventive actions.

14. Train Supplier Quality professionals and team members in competencies, knowledge and techniques necessary for supplier product quality.

15. Lead and serve as a back-up for various duties: FAI, MRB, Returns to Vendor, Internal Auditor, and Ex Representative

16. Travel to Supplier locations to conduct onsite assessments and to address critical issues (travel requirement up to 25%, including international).

17. Other tasks as assigned by the Global Director of Quality
