Primary Purpose of Job: Host staff ensures a pleasant dining experience for our members and guests by serving food and beverage items in an efficient, pleasant manner. All service staff follows proper etiquette procedures and are able to handle themselves in the utmost professional manner. Hosts provide the first impression to guests so they must remain calm, neat and professional at all times. The entire flow of the dining room is almost entirely determined by the host so they must always be aware of what is happening throughout the entire room. In many ways, the host is the eyes and ears of the dining room. Job Tasks/Expectations:
- Greet guests in a warm, friendly manner by name whenever possible, and seat them.
- Keep host station, menus and check presenters neat and clean at all times. - Maintain seating plan in order to effectively seat servers in an organized rotation.
- Know what your servers can handle at any given time based upon your knowledge of their serving skills and on open communication.
- Know what is happening throughout the room at all times, including where tables are in the course of their meal and that all their needs are met.
- Offer correct phone etiquette to the reservation line.
- Be able to handle take-out orders from start to finish with accuracy of order.
- Keep organized wait list with accurate wait time based on parties already dining.
- Let servers know what their sections have been sat.
- Be knowledgeable of events and goings-on of the club in order to direct members and guests.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in staff training opportunities.
Work Remotely
