We are hiring Assistant Behavior Intervention Specialists for Suffolk and Nassau County who have the leadership skills to effectively support our teams in promoting YAI’s mission of helping people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live, love, work, and learn in their communities.

About the Position:

The Assistant Behavior Intervention Specialist position blends together the DSP role and the clinical leadership role. Clinical leadership under the supervision of the Behavior Intervention Specialist includes educating team members on habilitative and Behavior Support Plans, assisting with clinical assessments, ensuring data collection and providing direct feedback and education to all team members.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Some college/BA preferred in related field
• Prior DSP experience strongly preferred
• Ability to lead by example and act as a role model within teams
• Interpersonal problem-solving skills
• Ability to accept and apply feedback
• Flexibility in availability

Schedule:

Full Time; schedules are typically evenings, with one full day of work on weekends

Compensation:

$18.00/hr - $18.00/hr
