Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
White Sands Treatment Center is a leading provider of drug and alcohol rehabilitative services in Florida. We provide evidence-based treatment in a residential setting for adult men and women. We have an opening for a full-time LPN in our Plant City facility.
We are seeking a strong professional to join our team as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
The LPN is responsible for all Nursing related services for each patient and for linking patients to the physicians and to outside medical resources. He/She participates in the Interdisciplinary Team Meetings when necessary to inform the clinical team about medical issues and is available for emergency medical situations. The Staff Nurse provides all services under the supervision of the Director of Nursing. The LPN is responsible to provide medical & history screens, providing routine nursing care and overseeing the medical and psychiatric management of the patient in coordination with the attending physician. He/she is also a member of the Treatment Team and provides input into the development of the Master Treatment Plan.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
· Completes the following documentation within 24 hours of the patient’s admission to the program:
1. Admission Note
2. Nursing Assessment
3. Pre-Screen Testing
4. HRS Consent Form
5. Patient Health Examination
6. Criteria for Admission Form (if Staff admit).
· Transcribes Physician’s Orders and implement all Medical Protocols as ordered
· medications and monitor Detox process
· Confers with and assist the Medical Doctor and the Psychiatrist
· Administers Makes appropriate referrals using referral forms
· Conducts Nursing Assessments and monitoring of Detox patients
· Member of the Treatment Team
· Handles the medication management; trains staff on medication dispensing
· Ensures Universal Precautions of the unit
· Facilitates Health Education groups including General Health Education, Medication/Drug Interactions
· Observe and assess patients for clinical signs and symptoms and follow prescribed course of treatment
· Determines and implements specific Detox protocols as designated by the Medical Director
· Ensures patient confidentiality in compliance with 42CFR, Part 2
· Attends and participate in all “in-service” functions
· Assists with emergency situations and make immediate referrals
· Provides documentation which reflects services for each patient in accordance with licensure standards
· Ensure that the Charge Nurse on each Shift supervises Staff Technician duties
· Complies with all Sunrise Staff Center’s Policies and Procedures
· Performs any other task outlined in accordance with 65D-30
· Meets with patients requesting to see the doctor to determine the urgency of their medical needs and expedite treatment as required
Position Requirements:
· We are seeking local candidates only for this position
· A minimum of 1 years’ experience in a chemical dependency/psychiatric setting, preferably in a Staff unit and/or inpatient, partial hospitalization and/or outpatient setting required.
· Residential Rehab experience preferred.
