University Area CDC is Hiring a Facility Maintenance (Full Time/Flex) Near Tampa, FL

Description

SUMMARY

This is a hybrid Maintenance position that includes inside and outside facility maintenance. This person is primarily responsible for keeping the building clean and orderly, completing facility projects and work orders, and setting up and breaking down events. Duties include but are not limited to cleaning restrooms and common areas, removing trash, routine maintenance, sanitizing, mopping, pressure washing, washing/folding linens, and restocking facility supplies. This is a flex position to support weekend events and facility needs. Work will be on-site at the main community center, as well as off-site at the community parks, including Harvest Hope Park, Mort Park, Uptown Sky Apartment, Harvest Hope Culture campus, and all the University Area CDC vacant lots properties and other properties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow all safety requirements and procedures at all times.
  • Perform general maintenance and custodial activities.
  • Work with supervisor to determine cleaning tasks, facility projects, and/or event setup and breakdown.
  • Bring building repair and facility needs to supervisor’s attention for ongoing maintenance, cleanliness, safety, and appearance.
  • Demonstrate great time management skills, attention to detail, communication, and housekeeping skills.

Core duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums hallways, stairs, and office spaces.
  • Dusts, sanitizes, and cleans restrooms, common areas, and windows.
  • Empties trash and garbage for inside and outside receptacles.
  • Wash, fold, and store linens and related event inventory.
  • Maintains building, performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical diagnosis, install and repair, and other related maintenance activities.
  • Maintains vacant lot’s landscaping, tree trimming, and trash pickup.
  • Cleans debris from sidewalk, leaf blowing, pressure washing, gutter cleaning, and light replacements.
  • Flexible weekly schedule including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast-paced professional office environment.
  • Valid ID and insurance to operate company vehicle and travel to offsite buildings.Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums hallways, stairs, and office spaces.
  • Sensitivity to diversity and people from a variety of socio-economic classes.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English language.
  • Other duties may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

One to three years related experience as a janitor /custodian; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Bi-lingual is an added plus.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts.
