Vistabeam is Hiring a Financial Specialist Near Gering, NE

The Vistabeam Financial Specialist position is primarily responsible for general Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable processing and provides support for the Corporate Accounting & Financial Reporting functions. This position reports to the Financial Director.

Required Job Qualifications:

· Two years minimum technical accounting and finance experience

· Minimum two years of college, university or non-correspondence business school which included eighteen (18) semester credit hours of accounting or bookkeeping

· Decision-making and problem-solving skills

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to manage time effectively

Preferred Job Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of professional experience in accounting/financial responsibilities OR Associate’s degree and three (3) years of accounting/financial responsibilities that demonstrate aptitude to perform the essential functions

· Demonstrated experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Cost Accounting Standards, and interpreting and ensuring compliance with regulatory policies

· Experience with QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Office & Google Docs

Essential Job Duties:

Accounts Payable & Procurement

· Verifies accuracy of invoices and initiates payments to vendors and contractors

· Identifies discrepancies, develops accounting reports and works with vendors to correct invoicing errors

  • Address payable issues with appropriate staff to ensure timely and accurate payments

· Submits and monitors purchase order requests in financial system

· Reconciles and reallocates Company credit card transactions

Accounts Receivable & Billing

· Processes recurring receivables in billing system. This includes the daily input of check and cash payments and depositing at the bank

· Prepares receivable balance sheet reconciliations and revenue reconciliations

· Works with other units to maintain accuracy of customer information in billing system

· Assists Financial Director with tracking and reporting of project costs and revenues related to contract (non-recurring) work performed by the company for third-party entities. Works with other company units in invoicing clients for these contract services and monitors receipt of client payments

· Assists with additional billing duties, including answer incoming phone calls, mailing out invoices, processing phone and walk-in payments, processing cancellations & following up on past-due accounts

Additional Financial & Administrative Functions

  • Maintains accounting document files, keeping and documenting Finance unit archives, ordering supplies, scanning, copying, filing and researching documents for audits and internal requests
  • Regularly reconciles bank accounts to financial system

· Provides support to Financial Director in processing accounting entries and preparing reports for review and analysis

  • Maintains strong working relationships with other company units, including but not limited to: Infrastructure, Network Operations, Field Operations, Sales & Customer Care
  • Provides back-up support for other team members in Finance unit
