  • Lead, coach, and mentor less experienced teachers in your classroom; model behaviors and provide feedback.
  • Responsible for the overall classroom management, leading a safe, nurturing, clean, and engaging learning environment.
  • Serve as a role model, using a growth mindset to develop young minds and inspire a love of learning.
  • Implement our proprietary L.E.A.P. Curriculum, working with Infants, Toddlers, and/or Preschool children in a way that is consistent with the unique needs of each child.
  • Create a safe, nurturing environment where children can play and learn.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, sharing their childrens latest adventures and achievements through a variety of avenues, including mobile apps and personal discussions.
  • Support your centers success, partnering with center staff and leadership to achieve goals around enrollment and engagement.
  • Build relationships with families and coworkers and create a dynamic environment where play and learning happen seamlessly.
  • Demonstrate competency, good judgment, and self-control in the presence of children and when performing assigned responsibilities.
  • Relate to children with courtesy, respect, acceptance, and patience.
  • Recognize and respect the uniqueness and potential of all children, their families, and their cultures.
  • Ensure that no child is abused, neglected, or exploited while in the care of the center; and Report suspected abuse, neglect, and exploitation to DFPS as specified in the Texas Family Code, 261.101.
  • Know and comply with the minimum standards for child-care centers.
  • Know each childs name and have information showing each childs age.
  • Always supervise children, as specified in 746.1205. Texas Minimum Standards
  • Be free from activities not directly involving the teaching, care, and supervision of children, such as:
  • a) Administrative and clerical duties that take the caregiver's attention away from the children.
  • b) Meal preparation, except when 12 or fewer children are in care and based on cooking activity.
  • c) Personal use of electronic devices, such as cell phones, MP3 players, tablets, and video games.
  • Foster developmentally appropriate independence in children through planned but flexible program activities.
  • Foster a cooperative rather than a competitive atmosphere.
  • Show appreciation of childrens efforts and accomplishments.
  • Make sure you are well prepared with all materials needed before you enter your classroom and begin the days learning experience.
  • Greet each child and perform a daily physical health check. Report any unusual markings or behaviors to director. Record all checks in daily health check log
  • Maintain written records monitoring of daily health checks, attendance, and classroom information logs.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness and safety environment of the classroom and outdoor play areas.
  • Assume a share of the joint classroom job responsibility.
  • Perform other assigned duties deemed necessary for the successful operation of Little Masters dba The Learning Experience.
  • Abide by schedule for the children in your class. Conduct developmental screenings on all children.
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of Age.
  • 2 year of professional teaching experience preferred. At least one year of professional teaching experience required.
  • Associate degree or higher in ECE or related degree preferred. High school diploma/GED required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices (DAP).
  • CPR and First Aide certification with 90 days from hire
  • Pass background screening
  • Current record of a tuberculosis examination, showing the employee is free of contagious TB, if required by the Texas Department of State Health Services or local health authority
  • Complete a notarized Licensing Affidavit for Applicants for Employment form as specified in Human Resources Code, 42.059.
  • 8 pre-service training hours or proof from exemption before start date
  • Must meet state specific guidelines for the role.
