Description

$2500 SIGNING

This is an administrative position involving the oversight of services provided to individuals placed in The Arc of Butler County’s Residential Group Home Program. The individual in this position is responsible for staff supervision, staff training, records maintenance, general program, and compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations relevant to the program operation. The Residential Program Supervisor reports to and is supervised by the Director of Residential Services.

Examples of Work Performed:

  • Responsibility for staff and residents of the residential homes to which assigned. Coordinates all residence activities.
  • Directs residential staff in development of assignments and evaluations of each resident. Plans, organizes and implements development of overall goals with staff for each resident in conjunction with Program Coordinators and Clinical Director.
  • Monitors and reviews residence records. Maintains anecdotal notes and progress notes on residents for inclusion into residence records. Responsible for all residence reports and required documentation.
  • Counsels staff and residents concerning problems of daily living and interpersonal relations. Expected to exercise mature and professional judgment in handling difficult behavioral problems.
  • Responsible for supervision and directing residence staff in providing necessary daily living skills and hygiene to residents.
  • Attends staffing, supervisory and management meetings as required.
  • Maintains safety standards within residences to which assigned.
  • Performs related work as required by 6400 Department of Public Welfare, Office of Developmental Program regulations.

Qualifications


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of residential programs for individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted principles, practices, and techniques involved in the development and implementation of individual program plans for individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Basic knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations relevant to residential programs and services.
  • Experience in the supervision of staff.
  • Experience in working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, peers, employees, volunteers, clients, client families, and the general public.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • A master’s degree or above from an accredited college or university in Administration, Business, Special Education, Psychology, Public Health, Rehabilitation, Social Work, Speech Pathology, Audiology, Occupational Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, or other human service fields, which includes at least 15 credit hours in administration or human services; and one (1) year work experience working directly with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, or one (1) year work experience in administration or supervision; or,
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Administration, Business, Special Education, Psychology, Public Health, Rehabilitation, Social Work, Speech Pathology, Audiology, Occupational Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, or other human services field; and two (2) years work experience in administration or supervision, and one (1) year experience working directly with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
