Position Summary
Will assist in training and mentoring new employees within the department. Responsible for maintenance and repair on equipment. Responsible for electrical systems, electronic controls, hydraulic, and mechanical troubleshooting, and repairs. Steffes Core Values

1.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment, to include electronic controls, motors, PLC, electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
2.
Trains, audits, and holds team accountable to standard work and training guides; complies with acceptance criteria and responds quickly to quality problems.
3.
Directs daily tasks and priorities of maintenance staff.
4.
Promotes safety, quality, continuous improvement, and LEAN practices.
5.
Required to be a mentor and trainer.
6.
Complete Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) on applicable machines.
7.
Responsible for maintaining an inventory of service and repair parts.
8.
Maintains accurate and computerized records of services, repairs, and modifications on equipment.
9.
Design and install modifications or retrofits to enhance safety and efficiency of plant equipment, as needed.
10.
Able to operate various types of welding tools, hand tools, and power tools.
11.
Able to read and understand drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
12.
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in collaborative manner with customers, suppliers, co-workers, and management.
13.
Helps company meet its Strategic, Quality and Safety objectives.
14.

High School Diploma or GED
3 years of experience in a related field
Minimum of two years’ experience in troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of equipment.
Able to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
Good hearing and ability to see well (use of corrective hearing aids or lenses allowed)
Basic computer knowledge (Windows, email, internet, etc.)
Basic math skills
Reading skills (Basic instructional and technical information)

This position requires walking, sitting, or standing to a significant degree.
Must have the ability to lift 70 pounds from floor to waist, carry 50 pounds, and push and/or pull up to 100 pounds.
Must have the ability to climb ladders and/or stairs.
Stooping, crouching, kneeling, and bending.
Handling, feeling, and gripping would be required for some activities.
Visual acuity is required to inspect work completed.
This role may be subject to internal and external environmental conditions.
  • Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow, ability to communicate with visitors, ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota.
