Position: Unarmed Security Guard
Availability: Weekend availability required
Location: SPCA of Northern Nevada Thrift Store, 75 E. Moana Lane
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week

About the Role: As a Security Guard, you'll play a vital role in ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for everyone. Responsibilities include:

• Patrolling: Regularly monitor both the store interior and outer perimeter to provide a visible presence and identify potential safety issues.
• Customer Engagement: Approach customers with respect and courtesy, handling any disruptive behavior calmly and effectively.
• Surveillance: Utilize the store's surveillance system to monitor situations and gather evidence if needed.
• Theft Prevention: Keep a watchful eye on the sales floor, identifying theft-related behaviors and adhering to company policies for theft response.
• Collaboration: Communicate with local authorities when necessary and complete incident paperwork and police reports as required.
• Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly, answering questions, and maintaining a positive atmosphere.
• Cross-Training: Willingness to learn and assist in warehouse and retail operations.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Preferably, at least one year of retail security experience.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues, volunteers, and the public.
• Positive Attitude: A positive and optimistic individual who values both people and pets!
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
