LITERACY INTERVENTIONIST - K-5 - MLDAnticipated Opening - August 2024RSU 21 is seeking an experienced literacy teacher leader to serve as a K-5 Literacy Interventionist. As the Literacy Interventionist, you will provide direct student intervention and support staff in the implementation of RSU 21s elementary literacy programs by collaborating with teachers on best practices to support students in their classroom. You will focus on accelerating student learning and sharing strategies that will enhance teachers ability to provide instruction that builds students sense of engagement and will work with administrators and teachers to collect, analyze, and interpret data to support instructional decision-making.Reports to: PrincipalLocation: Mildred L. Day Elementary SchoolQualifications: Love what you do, and the opportunity this position presents especially your ability to help shape and drive a high-performing instructional climate and culture dedicated to improving student outcomes.
A valid Maine teaching certification (020) is required. A valid Maine literacy specialist certification (092) is preferred. An ideal candidate will hold an advanced degree, have experience working at the elementary level, show a strong understanding of systems of intervention and early literacy development, and be able to build meaningful relationships with students, staff, administration, and parents. Numeracy and mathematical intervention experience preferred.
