Objectives to this Role:We are seeking a highly motivated inventory and logistics analyst with procurement experience to join our team. The Procurement & Inventory Analyst is responsible for analyzing inventory, preparing inventory reports, overseeing supplier relations, and logistics details for Stephen Joseph, Inc.. Their core duties include analyzing inventory to determine what products to order, monitoring delivery times from warehouses or manufacturing plants to our Lubbock facility, and assisting the overall procurement department where needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the purchase process for all company divisions
- Prepare weekly inventory reporting and analysis based on currently available products, open sales orders with customers, and open purchase orders with suppliers
- Organization and coordination of logistics related to importing products from suppliers
- Place Purchase orders with suppliers and ensure they deliver within the time frame
- Negotiate vendor cost to meet target margin for each division
- Negotiate minimum order quantities and product lead time with suppliers
- Assist the sales team with coordination of custom projects
- Negotiating ocean and air freight rates on a daily basis and analyzing the cost impact for each purchase order
- Work with product development to provide support as needed during the sourcing process
- Oversee in-line and custom product purchase orders from placement and production to point of delivery and invoice
- Coordinate production and delivery schedule with China team for consolidation
- Review international inventory and receive international warehouse transfers into inventory
- Approve shipment booking on a daily basis based on the most recently available information
- Work with warehouse inbound team to schedule deliveries
- Work with the warehouse inbound team on reviewing pack slips and count sheets for received product
- Maintain logistics updates on various internal platforms
- Coordinate customs clearances as needed
- Support procurement team as needed
Education and Experience:
- Prior work experience in procurement, preferably at least 2 years in supply chain management or in purchasing/procurement
