SomiSomi is Hiring a Cinematographer Near Los Angeles, CA

Lauded for its delicious soft-serve flavors and scrumptious fish-shaped cones, SomiSomi Inc. is one of the fastest growing ice cream concepts on the market. We currently have 32 locations throughout California, Nevada, Texas, Arizona and Hawaii, and are in the midst of further expansion into other territories.

SomiSomi is seeking a talented Cinematographer / Videographer / DP to oversee the production of our multi-channel video content. We are seeking someone with a great eye who wants to hone their skills full time on one subject - our company - and discover ways to engage our current and future customers through eye catching images.

You will be responsible for video-based content creation related to all of our growing social channels (website, IG, TikTok, etc.). You will execute strategies developed by our Marketing team, shooting content ranging from products in motion to behind the scenes, as well as scripted content. There will be a great variety of content to keep your creative juices flowing. Long term goals include developing improved standards for production and growing the role into a senior producer position.

Our Marketing Dept. is a scrappy team of creatives who work closely together and support each other to produce the best possible content for the brand. We are looking for experienced self-starters who love to imagine outside the box, and can pivot between projects easily.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Conceive and create visual content (video) that follows our guidelines for brand voice, style, tone, and visual identity.
  • Shoot with a variety of cameras, from smartphones to pro DSLR / Mirrorless, and equipment (tripods, gimbals, drones etc.)
  • Regularly meet with the Department Manager, Social Media Manager and Designers to align strategies, creative direction, and scheduling of shoots.
  • Work closely with the Marketing Coordinator to execute productions both at stores and in studio settings.
  • Regularly share concepts with the team to help develop a signature look for our content.
  • Willing to travel to our stores in Los Angeles and Orange County in order to execute on-location shoots.
  • Manage the video production calendar and align with the Social Media Manager to ensure timely handoffs and posting.
  • Read and study weekly Department performance metrics and campaign reports; propose improvements in order to enhance video content performance.
  • Stay on top of trends and follow the latest research to ensure that all content is relevant as well as executed to a high standard.
  • Oversee production standards and practices with any outside creative vendors.
  • Liaise with / oversee freelance motion graphics editors when necessary.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Please submit a reel or links to your work. We cannot consider any candidate who cannot produce a current / recent reel.
  • 3 years of experience as a videographer / cinematographer.
  • Working knowledge of new and existing SNS platforms and their best practices.
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) experience required.
  • Can lift or move 100 lbs or more.
  • Must be able to solve problems on-the-go and be flexible in the face of challenges.
  • Detail oriented approach to scheduling and executing multiple projects during a single shoot; be able to conceptualize and shoot stock footage in anticipation of potential future ideas.
  • Self-starter that enjoys planning projects that are ambitious and inventive.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Drivers license required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
