SCI, a growing, American based manufacturing company that specializes in providing high performance furniture to the restaurant, educational, hospitality, healthcare, corporate, and gaming industries is hiring a Quality Manager.
The Quality Manager is responsible for identification, analyzation, and implementation of process enhancements within our manufacturing plant. This role will collaborate with cross functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives, remove all forms of waste, optimize workflows, and streamline operations which will contribute to increased efficiency, cost effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work closely with Production and Engineering team to develop new programs and delivery methods around safety & continuous improvement.
Develop and implement quality management systems and processes to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Conduct regular quality audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to quality control procedures.
Analyze data and identify root causes of quality issues and develop corrective actions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish quality assurance standards and processes.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of quality systems, making recommendations for improvements as needed.
Provide training and guidance to employees on quality control procedures and best practices.
Oversee the current documentation of quality procedures, specifications, and reports and suggest and drive continuous improvements to program.
Apply Lean principles and methodologies to identify and eliminate waste, reduce variability, and improve process stability.
Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather input, share findings, and gain buy-in for proposed changes.
Lead and support Lean projects to ensure successful implementation of improvement initiatives.
Identify opportunities for technology integration and processes such as the implementation of automation, robotics, and warehouse management systems.
Develop and deliver training programs to production staff on updated processes, new technologies, and Lean principles to drive continuous improvement.
Perform and document BIFMA Testing of SCI chairs / barstools and vendor chairs to meet government standards set by BIFMA.
Enforcement of current safety related /OSHA standards.
Other duties and projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
5 years of experience in a quality management role, preferably in a custom cabinetry or furniture manufacturing.
Strong knowledge in conducting time studies, process analysis, and workflow optimization.
Proven ability to analyze data and identify trends or patterns.
Experience conducting quality audits and implementing corrective actions.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
