Ophthalmic Scribe ( will train the right medical scribe)

Successful Ophthalmology practice in Templeton, King City and Salinas, has an immediate opening for a preferred experienced Ophthalmic Scribe with minimum one year experience. We are currently seeking an outgoing, and energetic individual who can multi-task and who is attentive to details.

Skills and Qualifications

Obtain and record accurate patient history, chief complaint and scribes physician's findings via Electronic Medical Records (EMR)

Perform lensometry and auto refraction

Perform diagnostic testing of the eyes, knowledge of tests such as Visual Fields, OCT, IOL Master, and fundus photography

Obtain accurate visual acuities Perform functional ocular measurements of the eye such as color vision testing, and Amsler Grid tests

Administer topical ophthalmic medications

Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments

Verbalize pre and post-operative instructions in a clear and professional manner to patients for any procedure performed

Understand ocular pharmacology: names of meds and their uses

Communicate with patients directly or via telephone to respond appropriately and professionally to their needs.

Communicate. with pharmacies and/or referring doctor's offices via electronically or telephone to respond appropriately and professionally to their needs.

Bilingual preferred

EMR experience preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
