Presco Engineering is Hiring a Director of Electrical Engineering Near New Haven, CT

Are you tired of the "same old, same old"? Do you want fast paced, exciting work in a great engineering environment? Presco is a 40-year-old design firm in New Haven, CT building teams for bio-medical electronics, scientific instruments, drop-on-demand printers, military power conversion, high power lasers and a host of other electronic product development cycles.

Prominent technology companies outsource their most difficult design cycles to us. That's because these firms are incredibly risk averse. Fearing failure, they won't try anything new or difficult, so they outsource the fun work to us. Presco's staff is expanding and we're seeking a high level manager with good technical, business and interpersonal skills. Our Director of Electrical Engineering must be comfortable in a fast paced technical environment focused on electronics, embedded software and mechanical/thermal design. We're active in high speed digital circuits, low noise analog, precision A/D and D/A conversion, FPGA development, and power conversion circuitry.
Requirements
  • Electrical Engineering degree with 10 years' experience
  • High speed digital, FPGA and low noise analog design experience
  • Power electronics experience
  • Familiar with schematic capture and layout
  • BOM & ECO management experience
  • ERP process experience
Responsibilities
  • General business management: high level strategic planning; financial and personnel management.
  • Customer first-contact: presenting the Presco value proposition, establishing technological competency and forming a personal relationship.
  • Evaluation of customer needs and technology; writing the initial Statement of Work and business plan; making the customer presentation.
  • Assemble mission-specific technology teams, supervise and direct the work, manage the schedule and budget.
