Position Summary:

The Communications Manager is responsible for meeting goals and objectives for short and long-term growth of the organization’s communications. The primary functions for this position include managing social media, email marketing, website management, print communications, advertising, and external media relations. As part of this role, the Communications Manager will be responsible for designing professional and creative materials to support both fundraising and program communications. Additionally, the Communications Manager will assist with planning and organizing Paws4ever’s annual fundraiser in conjunction with other staff and board members.

The Communications Manager reports to the Executive Director and ultimately the Board of Directors.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage communications strategy for the organization with assistance from Executive Director.
• Work with program and development staff members to identify and disseminate creative and engaging content and develop contact best-practices.
• Oversee and manage content creation and edits to the organization’s website
• Oversee and manage the organization’s social media presence and strategy
• Design professional and creative material materials and communication content to support development and communications efforts
• Work with Development Manager to target communications using database tools
• Work with Development Manager and Executive Director to create direct-mail fundraising campaigns, stewardship materials, and other fundraising communications
• Collect and organize photos, videos, and stories of pets and clients to be used in communications and fundraising efforts
• Manage advertising strategy and budget
• Manage Google Ads and Google Ad grant
• Ensure brand consistency across all communications
• Participate in event planning, management, advertising, and communications
• Develop media relationships and seek media coverage opportunities
• Provide troubleshooting and support for communications systems (Wordpress, Jotform, Petstablished, Adopt-A-Pet, Canva, Gmail)
• Manage online event calendar and post events to social media
• Track and analyze the performance of communication strategies and initiatives
• Other duties as assigned by Executive Director

Qualifications:

• Strong writing skills
• Graphic design experience (using Canva is a plus)
• Social media content creation and management
• Ability to learn and be proficient in new technology and software
• Creativity
• Professional communication skills
• Organizational skills
• Work professionally and cooperatively with other team members

Preferred Qualifications:

• Graphic design using Adobe Illustrator or Adobe InDesign
• Google Ad management
• Wordpress website management experience
• Photography
• Video creation

Job Type: Full-time
