Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel Texas is seeking qualified applicants for the position of HR Coordinator. The successful candidate is responsible for providing excellent customer service and a wide range of HR support to our team and must maintain confidentiality and integrity of HR and payroll data. The role of the HR Coordinator includes but is not limited to:

  • Administering and explaining benefits and serve as liaison between teammates and insurance carriers
  • Assisting teammates with Benefits, FMLA, Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance, and other HR related questions
  • Coordinating and managing Open Enrollment
  • Managing the recruiting and selection process and maintaining applicant tracking
  • Managing pre-employment and random drug testing and conducting New Hire Orientation
  • Assisting in managing various company sponsored programs and/or projects
  • Coordinating HR-related initiatives
  • Maintaining and auditing personnel files
  • Supporting the HR & Talent department in all aspects

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree in Human Resources Management, Business, or related field, or equivalent years of HR experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • May not have any relatives (defined as Father, Mother, Brother, Sister, Son, Daughter, Spouse, Father-in-law, Mother-in-law, Brother-in-law, Sister-in-law, Son-in-law, and Daughter-in-law) employed by Nucor Steel Texas.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related discipline.
  • Prior SAP and HR related systems experience
  • PHR/SHRM-CP certification
