NM School for the Deaf is Hiring a PT -Temp- Substitute Driver (Albuquerque) Near Santa Fe, NM
Required qualifications:
Defensive Driver Certifcation (provided by NMSD upon hiring)
Current NM Driver's License
Fluent in ASL (preferred)
Duties:
Transport students to and from school in a safe and timely manner
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspection on vehicle
Follow all NMSD policies regarding student transportation and vehicle use
Obey all traffic laws
Report any vehicle issues to the Transportation Coordinator
Check roster for required car or booster seats
Be responsible for route papers, keys, and gas card, must sign for these items
Ensure students have all of their property including hearing aid/cochlear implants
Be responsible for safekeeping of student medicine and giving to nurse and parents/guardians
Be aware of student behavior at all times
Report all student misbehavior in writing before end of shift
Notify dispatcher when you arrive at each destination, when you pick up, who you picked up/need to have parent sign for student-drop of and mark here on roster when you pick up student.
Read special instructions on route document for student needs
Clean vehicle interior and windows after every use
Fill up vehicle with gas after you drop of students
Ensure all windows are closed and vehicle is locked
Abide NMSD policies at all times
