Summary:
We’re hiring a Junior Non-Destructive Testing Technician to perform multiple NDT methods, interpret and document NDT results and maintain production NDT equipment that supports weldment inspection, detailed parts, gearing and complex assemblies. Machinists Inc. is one of the largest machine and fabrication companies in the pacific northwest specializing in aerospace tooling and other high tolerance components and assemblies. As a critical leader in the Quality Assurance department, you will be relied upon to bring your expertise into critical projects and be expected to advance your skillsets to match industry demands.
Job Type: Direct Hire
Salary: $40 - $45/hr.

Responsibilities:
· Provide evaluation, disassembly, inspection and tests in adherence to NDT standards per customer requirements on projects.
· Establish and maintain techniques to properly examine hardware, ensuring adherence to all safety and specification requirements.
· Perform inspections using Magna Flux (MT), Penetrant Test (PT) and Visual Examination (VT).
· Interpret inspection results and apply acceptance criteria identified on drawing, customer requirements or shop work orders.
· Perform all necessary daily, weekly, monthly process control checks.
· Document and organize inspection results.
· Interface and communicate with customers and engineers to describe inspection results.
· Ensure adherence to safety rules and practices.
Qualifications:
· Hold a current certification in SNT Magna Flux (MT), Penetrant (PT) and Visual (VT) Inspection.
· Have direct experience in inspecting and interpreting steel and stainless-steel products in daylight and fluorescent inspections.
· Be able to correctly complete paperwork in compliance with work orders and job manuals.
· Be able to use hand tools, micrometers, air gages and other special tools.
· Have exceptional communication skills both verbal and written with high level contacts inside and outside of the company.
· Be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
· Be able to read and interpret manufacturing documentation such as blueprints, parts lists, and other related documentation highly preferred.
· Have a familiarity with manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication and assembly preferred.
· Be able to conduct business within both an office and manufacturing environment.
