Jones & Roth is assisting in recruiting for this position. The position is with an Oregon based contractor in Linn County.

Linn County Contractor has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Controller.

The Controller manages the operation and administration of the finance department, including supervision of accounting team, human resources and project accounting.

Responsibilities include:

• Supervise accounting team
• Prepare monthly financial reports for owners and project managers
• Implement and monitor internal controls
• Develop accounting policies and procedures
• Manage human resource activities, including payroll and benefits
• Review insurance coverage and policies
• Review benefit policies and administer as needed
• Manage all financial related agreements, including leases, employment contracts, etc.
• Supervise the collection, safekeeping and distribution of all accounts.
• Monitor and manage debt requirements including covenants
• Work closely with Project Managers to improve job costing and project accounting
• Function as a member of the executive team
• Provide other financial analysis as necessary
• Assist in preparation of audit package an ensure timely completion of the audit
• Work closely with CPA’s throughout the year to anticipate complexities or accounting issues
• Other items as needed

Qualifications

Qualifications

• 5 years' experience managing an accounting department
• 4 year degree preferred
• Strong background in construction accounting, including job costing, work in process and overhead allocation
• Experience with prevailing wage
• Ability to provide meaningful financial analysis to assist managers and owner in running the business
• Understanding of laws, regulations and codes that impact the industry
• Demonstrated management skills including ability to supervise team members
• Team player with a "can do" approach.
• Works well with a variety of personalities
• Strong communication skills
