The Solar Loan Officer will be crucial in expanding our solar lending portfolio, working closely with clients to secure financing for their solar projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Work closely with clients to understand their financial goals and tailor loan solutions to meet their needs.
Educate clients on available financing options and guide them through the loan application process.
Evaluate loan applications for solar projects and assess the financial viability of applicants.
Exercise judgment in approving or denying loan requests and informing applicants of credit decisions, rates, and terms.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a smooth and efficient loan approval process.
Communicate promptly with relevant parties about any changes in client qualifications or application status.
Conduct thorough due diligence at each process step, complying with regulations, policies, and procedures.
Stay informed about industry trends, solar technologies, and government incentives to provide relevant and up-to-date information to clients.
Build and maintain strong relationships with solar installers, contractors, and other industry stakeholders.
Develop strong partnerships with solar companies to expand our client pipeline.
Requirements Education and Experience
A minimum of two years' experience in mortgage lending or a related field is required.
Candidates who are bilingual-English and Spanish, will take preference.
State of New Mexico Mortgage Loan Originator license is preferred but not required.
In-depth knowledge of loan regulations and lending procedures.
Basic knowledge of home renovations, including AC, roofs, impact windows and doors, solar energy, and energy efficiency, is desirable.
Experience with solar sales and financing is highly desirable.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Work Schedule
Ability to travel within New Mexico, as needed.
Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, as needed.
Physical Requirements.
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
Must be able to lift objects that weigh up to 20 pounds occasionally.
Must be able to maneuver around various client business offices and workspaces.
