JOB TYPE: Full-time

SALARY: $37,440.00 – $41,500.00 per year

POSITION SUMMERY:

Develops, implements, and evaluates high quality YMCA School Age Child Care Programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

      • Oversight of the entire School Age Child Care (SACC) department including Before and After School Enrichment (BASE), summer day camp, Kids Day Out (KDO), middle school initiative programming and any other programs/events related to children outside of physical programming (sports, aquatics, and gymnastics).
      • Develops and controls the School Age Child Care Department’s budget.
      • Maintain Keystone Stars Level 1 accreditation in BASE and follows all regulations related to Department of Human Services (DHS).
      • Work with the Director of Sports and Wellness to develop, implement, and evaluate health & wellness programs/initiatives for children enrolled in our childcare programs.
      • Work with the Marketing Department to market the impact of SACC programming internally and externally.
      • Work with the Marketing Department to develop, update, and distribute staff and parent/participant newsletters and semiannual handbook.
      • Work with SDO and CEO on networking opportunities to advocate for the Y and lead our SACC initiatives throughout our service area to generate program revenue.
      • Develop and implement a tour conversion and engagement plan; routinely evaluate its ability to retain and grow enrollment in the SACC programming.
      • Work with the business office to ensure the operations childcare billing office is efficient and functional.
      • Work with the Facility Director to ensure the operations of our childcare programming areas are safe and clean for participants and staff.
      • Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
      • Ensure all SACC staff receive mandated reporter training and required licensing trainings.
      • Establishes new program activities and expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
      • Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in timely manner within 24 hours.
      • Oversight of childcare reports.
      • Compiles usage statistics.
      • Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in SACC programs.
      • Visit programs regularly during peak times to ensure high quality and evaluate staff accordingly.
      • Foster a collaborative relationship with ECLC Director. Assist with ECLC Director coverage during Director vacations.
      • Represent the Y in at least one committee and/or organizations outside of the YMCA.
      • Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations especially schools, food banks, United Way, child care services, and other organizations as assigned.
      • Serve on internal committees as designated by CEO.
      • Serve as Director on Duty as scheduled.
      • Assist with all fundraising efforts and lead at least two departmentally throughout the year.
      • Work with the Financial Development Director to secure funds from grants, United Way, and the Earned Income Tax Credit program.
      • Acquire and maintain certifications applicable to the position along with the YMCA of the USA Director Certification on a regular basis.
      • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelors degree in related field.
  • One to two years related experience.
  • Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include: completion of: Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; Working with Program Volunteers; CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens.
  • Completion of YMCA program-specific certifications.

Physical Demands:

Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions and to supervise program activities in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor locations (depending upon the programs).
