GSL Electric is Hiring a Low Voltage Technician Near Salt Lake, UT

Growing from modest beginnings in 1981 to several hundred employees operating in 11 states today, GSL Electric maintains its focus in electrical contracting in commercial, industrial, multi-family residential, design-build engineering services, low voltage systems, and Special Projects.

The Low Voltage Technician will provide direction and training for apprentices and work with the Low Voltage department to provide structured cabling systems to support access control, audio video, network, video surveillance, and VoIP systems.

What we are looking for:

  • Strong knowledge of Electrical work/construction, with a minimum of 1 year of experience in telecommunications or related technical field.
  • Ability to lead through inspiration and influence.
  • Strong working knowledge of lean construction principles.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with a safety-first mindset.
  • Strong integrity, work ethic, and pride in quality.
  • Excellent client-facing skills.
  • Desire to make a difference.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Knowledgeable in structured cabling system installation and certification procedures.
  • Must be able to work at heights, on a ladder and in confined spaces
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and move up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to see and distinguish different colors, read small print and hear and recognize audible signals, such as dial tones.
  • Be able to work in an outdoor and indoor construction work environment.
  • Must be production oriented with an emphasis on safety and quality.
