POSITION SUMMARY INFORMATION : DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS

Job Summary :

The Field Laborer will perform all manner of labor and utility job functions assigned at mobile base camps, mobile & static events, and warehouse locations.

Duties / Responsibilities :

• Assists with the set-up, operation, and demobilization of base camps and events.
• Assists with warehouse operations.
• Assists with the loading and unloading of equipment.
• Assists shower / laundry operations.
• Assists with the cleanliness, operator level maintenance, and general orderliness of the facility.
• Assists with inventory operations
• Assists with cleaning and storage of supplies and equipment.

Required Education, Certifications, Licenses, and Experience :

• Previous emergency base camp field labor experience is preferred. Familiarity with general office equipment, computers, phone systems, and scanners is preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is preferred. Must have strong organizational and time management skills, and the ability to prioritize competing requirements.
• Strong candidates will have a familiarity with base camp construction, generator maintenance, mobile showers units, mobile laundry units, mobile kitchen units and HVAC units.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, and government regulations
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors / managers, customers, and the general public.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent.

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations when only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Work Environment :

Employees may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.

Physical Requirements :

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, reach with hands and arms, talk, or hear, and taste or smell.

The employee is required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include depth perception.

The employee is frequently exposed to wet and / or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
