About the Role:

As a CMM Programmer at Electron Energy Corporation, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring precise measurement and validation of parts using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM). Your expertise in CNC programming, CAD/CAM/CAE systems, and metrology will be vital in programming, operating, and maintaining CMM equipment. You'll work closely with our Quality Assurance team to uphold rigorous standards of accuracy and quality, contributing to our overall mission of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

- Program and operate CMM equipment to measure parts according to customer drawings and specifications, with a strong emphasis on GD&T principles.

- Utilize advanced CNC programming skills in conjunction with CAD/CAM/CAE software to create or modify measurement programs.

- Design and implement custom fixtures for CMM operations to enhance measurement accuracy and efficiency.

- Verify and record data accurately into the ERP computer system, manufacturing router, logs, databases, and control charts.

- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in CMM processes and overall quality assurance strategies.

Requirements:

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a CMM Programming role or similar.

- Proficiency in CNC programming and CAD/CAM/CAE systems.

- Strong background in metrology, quality control, and quality inspection.

- Experience in fixture designing for manufacturing or measurement processes.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

General Description:

The purpose of this position is to ensure precise measurement and validation of parts using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), adhering to customer drawings and specifications. The CMM Programmer is responsible for programming, operating, and maintaining CMM equipment, contributing to the overall quality assurance processes. This role demands a high level of expertise in computer numerical control (CNC) programming, CAD/CAM/CAE systems, fixture designing, and a strong foundation in metrology and quality control practices.

Major Functions:

  • Safety:

a. Adhere to required safety precautions.

b. Wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

c. Identify and optimize safety measures for new equipment and processes.

d. Minimize risk through rigorous safety practices.

  • Programming and Operation:

a. Program and operate CMM equipment to measure parts according to customer drawings and specifications, with a strong emphasis on GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles.

b. CMM programming software is CMM Manager

c. Utilize advanced computer numerical control (CNC) programming skills in conjunction with CAD/CAM/CAE software to create or modify measurement programs.

d. Apply expertise in metrology, quality control, and quality inspection to ensure the highest levels of precision and accuracy.

e. Engage in reverse engineering processes when required, to improve or troubleshoot existing designs.

  • Equipment Setup and Maintenance:

a. Design and implement custom fixtures for CMM operations to enhance measurement accuracy and efficiency.

b. CMM maintenance and calibration.

c. Set up equipment, including selecting fixtures and appropriate programs for measurement tasks.

d. Calibrate measuring equipment, including gauge blocks and pins, as required.

e. Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment and work area.

f. Verify accuracy of all measuring equipment regularly

  • Data Verification and Recording:

a. Verify and record data accurately into the ERP computer system, manufacturing router, logs, databases, and control charts, following work instructions.

b. Generate necessary paperwork for nonconforming materials as per quality system(s).

c. Completion of AS9102 FAIRs.

d. Analyze and report on measurement data.

  • Process Improvement:

a. Read, understand, and follow work instructions and process control standards.

b. Access and review work instructions and recommend revisions or updates.

c. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in CMM processes and overall quality assurance strategies.

Accountability of Employees

  • Use your best efforts and full capability to achieve the outputs assigned.
  • When circumstances make it likely that outputs cannot be achieved, or that more could be done, inform your manager in time for adaptive action to be taken.
  • Advise your manager when you have ideas you believe might be helpful.
  • Seek special dispensation from your manager when you are unable to work at your best.

Specific Skills and Requirements:

· Minimum of 5 years of experience in a CMM Programming role or similar.

· Proficient in computer numerical control (CNC) programming.

· Advanced knowledge of CAD/CAM/CAE systems.

· Expertise in fixture designing for manufacturing or measurement processes.

· In-depth understanding and application of GD&T principles.

· Strong background in metrology, quality control, and quality inspection.

· Experience in reverse engineering processes.

· Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
