Edenton, an Independent and Assisted Living Facility in Frederick Maryland is seeking a part-time Exercise/Yoga Instructor to provide individual and group exercise/yoga classes including cardiovascular exercise, strength training, yoga and stretching to our energetic and youthful group of seniors. The Exercise Instructor will also be responsible for providing guidance on developing personal exercise and nutrition plans as well as assist with exercise equipment use.

Responsibilities and Duties

Conduct a safe and effective exercise/yoga class designed to address cardiovascular strength, muscular strength, flexibility, range of motion, balance, coordination, and well-being.

Put the health and well-being of the residents first in all aspects, providing exercise/yoga modifications for different levels of fitness and skill for resident's safety and success.

Demonstrate how to carry out various exercises.

Watch clients do exercises and show or tell them correct techniques.

Monitor clients progress, evaluate current fitness levels.

Qualifications and Skills

Previous experience as a Fitness Instructor or personal trainer. Prefer ACE, AFAA or personal trainer certified

CPR and First Aid Certified

Be at least 21 years of age

Must possess a valid Drivers License

Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 25-30 pounds and be able to push, pull, move and/or carry weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, and push occupied wheelchairs.

MUST BE FULLY COVID-19 VACCINATED AND WILLING TO WEAR A MASK WHEN REQUIRED OR REQUESTED
