Purpose of the Position

As a Banquet Server you will be responsible for greeting, assisting, and serving guests at special functions and events as well as assist with preparation and clean up, serve guests, and respond to questions and requests.

Essential Job Functions (including to but not limited to)

Refill all drinks and beverages.
Remove dishes and glasses from tables and return to kitchen or breakdown station.
Remove and replace table linens and service settings as required.
Clean and arrange work stations, chairs, and table pieces.
Refill salt, pepper, sugar, cream, and condiment containers.
Provide menu descriptions to customers, and answer questions regarding preparation.
Accurately memorize or take note of special orders from customers.
Relay orders to the chef or kitchen.
Prepare beverages for customers and serve wine.
Serve meals to customers or direct customers to buffets.
Observe customers to determine what else may be needed.
Perform other duties as required.

High level of social contact. Ability to work closely with staff and interact with customers regularly.

Ability to handle and move objects such as trays, tables, chairs, service wear, etc.
Ability to document and record information.

Ability to speak clearly so that listeners may understand.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including but not limited to nights, weekends and select holidays.

Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age or older.
High school diploma or equivalent GED strongly preferred. Equivalent experience may be substituted.
Work experience in events, banquets or restaurants preferred.

Physical Demands

Ability to stand for long hours, carry food trays and plates with expertise and balance.

Ability to bend, stretch, twist or reach out with the body, arms and legs.

Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry heavy objects.
