Criterion Tool & Die, Inc. is Hiring a Payroll Clerk/Bookkeeper Part-Time Near Brook Park, OH

Summary/Objective
This part-time position will complete the processing of weekly payroll and assist with the monthly closings of a small manufacturing business. The position includes detailed record keeping and review records of employees’ hours. Preparing the data to be uploaded into Ahola, the payroll software, reviewing and correctly processing payroll. Following the direction of the CFO, assist in closing the month with general ledger experience, journal entry experience, and basic bookkeeping skills.

Essential Functions

1. Review employees' daily timekeeping data for correctness.

2. Maintains payroll information in the E2 Shop System and Ahola Payroll Software. Collect, calculate, and upload information from E2 into the payroll system and retrieve data when necessary.

3. Enter New Hires in Ahola and Bernie Portal along with assisting with PTO tracking.

4. Updates payroll records in Ahola by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, job titles, and department/division transfers.

5. Communicates payroll deductions to retirement administrators for 401(k) plans and other pre-taxation savings plans.

6. Assist with monthly, quarterly, or year-end calculations of bonuses and other salary-based compensation.

7. Provide payroll information to the team by answering questions and requests.

8. Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes.

9. Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.

Preferred Education and Experience

1. High school diploma required; associate’s degree preferred

2. Experience working in an office setting.

3. Previous payroll software experience a plus

4. Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) and the Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) a plus

5. At least three years of experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.

No relocation expenses paid.
