Complete Healthcare is Hiring a Medical Assistant Near Newark, OH

Medical Assistants perform routine administrative and clinical tasks that are instrumental in maintaining daily operations. Responsibilities include providing compassionate services to patients while calmly managing patient communication duties, such as filing, scanning, faxing, and answering telephones. Medical Assistants constantly interact with patients and other staff and should be able to do so in a warm, inviting manner. Medical Assistants assist in maintaining the organization of the medical office and ensuring the environment is welcoming, calm, and quiet for patients and their families. This can include arranging exam room instruments and equipment, maintaining supplies and equipment, and monitoring cleanliness of waiting areas and examination rooms.

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and record patient medical histories, vitals, test results, and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Coordinate daily administrative activities, including scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, and patient medical record maintenance.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for clinical examinations and assist practitioners with medical procedures and other patient care.
  • Deliver compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
  • Ensure compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
  • Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments
  • Answer phone calls from patients, labs, pharmacy, etc.
  • Check voicemails and respond to phone calls
  • Contact patients and schedule overdue appointments
  • Comply with office policy and procedures.
  • Perform OARRS reports on specifically identified patients
  • Check and verify patient medical insurance and benefits prior to scheduled appointments
  • Scan important documentation into the patient’s chart

Essential Skills & Abilities:

  • Perform clinical and administrative duties as assigned
  • Maintain professional boundaries
  • Work cooperatively with patients, coworkers, and community representatives
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with 42 CFR and HIPAA
  • Ability to work with diverse populations and unique situations
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Records, Microsoft Office, and Outlook
  • Effective written and verbal communication

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Certification from a Medical Assistant Program or Relevant Work Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A basic understanding of patient care, medical terminology, coding procedures, and reference tools
